Title: Memories
Post by: 2 of 3 on October 19, 2016, 09:00:08 pm
I listened to an interesting topic on a podcast the other day.  It was suggested that our memories are so faulty, that we should never believe them. In almost all cases, what we think we remember is wrong. They also suggested that memories can actually hold you back from creating new memories since we hold on so tightly to the old ones...even though they are most likely wrong, or at least altered over time. The most interesting part of this discussion was that it didn't really mean facts.... of course, you remember accurately what time something happened...but the "feelings" at that moment would be completely different than what was the reality.  Weird that you can't believe your own brain.  :P

One's brain will often alter events to make one look better in an event....

They were talking about things like "the one that got away". In most cases the one didn't get away...it ran away.  ;D

Who did the podcast?

Very interesting.  I really want to hear the lecture or discussion or whatever it was.
