We did A Day In The Life at a bar a couple weeks ago.

The keyboard player is really really good.  He learned the orchestration.
The two crescendos allowed me to play just my E string and have my other hand free.
I know, there probably is no bass part for the crescendos on the recording.

Anyway,

The light switch for the bar was right behind me.  I had a free hand.
I took my free hand and flicked the lights in the bar off and on and off and on during those parts.  Like furiously flicking it off and on.

Huge applause.  Dramatic effect.  Unique thing to see at a bar gig. For those brief moments I was the man.

I started watching this last night.......and WOW! The very beginning was pretty regular, until all the footage from the actual Get Back sessions began
.......it was like that moment in Wizard of Oz when Dorothy steps out into Munchkinland and her world turns into Technicolor.....

The whole movie looks brighter than the original...and very fresh......the Lads are so real and human.......and I am less then an hour in!.....

Yep. Glorious.
All of it.
The Ups and Downs of working together was reality.
I can see how each viewed the situation at times.
Paul was very much taking over much of the time and didn't give enough thought to input.
Yet again they were not giving much input, and it seemed good that Paul was doing a great job of keeping this group together.
I could watch all 55+ hours.
The clothes were awesome. George won best dressed award for that movie.
Lethargic John was hard to watch in episode 1, but he came alive in 2 and 3.
Amazing.  Paul was 26 at the time. George 25, Ringo and John 28.  Did I get those right?
Incredible.

Just wow! As a Beatles fan this was an absolute feast, I am going to watch this a lot of times over the years, nowhere else do you get so close to the Beatles, their creative process, their humour, their shared experience so much of their history lives in this Month in 1969.

Peter Jackson has beautifully curated the material, both visually and what he has done with the audio is just magic, with the use of AI to seperate all the instruments and voices from the original mono recording and allow for proper mixing and the removal of noise. Just using the original footage, no contemporary interviews and moving through it chronologically so that the events themselves tell the story. For me it's really moving, in that first part when George leaves and they focus on Ringo and Paul looking sad and the demo of isn't a pity is playing I swear my eyes started to leak. But all through you can tell how much they care about one another.

I'm just so thankful for this movie, it has transformed Let it Be for me, along with the Let it Be Box set. again just wow!

And now just days.
Going to be magic.
The restoration is one of the best parts of it.  Incredible.

Don't know if there should be a seperate thread for the new remix, just got it today and have had one listen, but first impression was very positive, it felt very present and it really warms me to the whole thing, I think he's just dialed back the Spector just the right amount and the whole thing takes on a new cast for me. I think this with the new Jackson movie is going to re write how I view this album.

Yes I agree "Two of Us" feels like it might have happened or at least it should have happened it's maybe more perceptive and grounded in the Beatles than some so called biopics. Maybe by being ostensibly a work of fiction it can follow the soul of the Beatles rather than having to stick to the letter.  I find it a bit strange that I'd never come across it before.

I'm glad that you like them both.
