Yeah. Gone.
But now it's here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1OT-jwgiss.
Weird.
I hadn't heard McCartney said that. Interesting. Very interesting.

Looks like they've removed that video now, i did listen to it though. It's funny I always thought Junk was kind of an affectionate look at the odds and ends we have in our yards, but I think Paul said somewhere that it was just about how we keep all this useless stuff that is just junk and we should get rid of it.

I think Paul's main issue with trying to "just be in a band" was that he tried to do it in the early 70's.....people were still hoping they would eventually reform....by the time Ringo and George got around to their band situations there was no hope of a reunion, sadly...

Merv it's funny that Paul said that about being in a band, because of the Beatles it was Ringo and George that really managed to be in real bands. Ringo's All Star Bands had everyone contributing and George also with the Willburies although they never toured it was definitely a real band where they all worked together. The closest John got was Elephants Memory but John I don't think wanted to be in another band and Paul's Wings was obviously not a real band like the Beatles, I'm sure he could have got a group of people together to make a band, who would have said no to Paul McCartney?

Greg, I didn't really get into Wings until after they broke up so I didn't have that experience. Wings in the 70s I think did have quite a different identity than the Beatles, they didn't play many Beatle tracks, but subsequently I think Paul became more associated with the Beatles again.

I got Off the Ground when it came out, The opening guitar is such a great sound, the album is also probably McCartney's most new agey album, with trippy songs like Golden Earth Girl & Winedark Open Sea. It has one of his most hard hitting political song on animal cruelty Looking for changes and there are these Utopian songs Hope of Deliverance that you mentioned, Peace in the Neighbourhood and C'mon people. For me the album flows well, much better than Flowers in the Dirt.

I had this album ages back and I think All Those Years Ago got me into it, but I just came to like it, I thought Blood from a Clone  was quite unusual and I liked the 80s keyboard sound on the album. But George loved Yogananda and and Swami Vivekananda as I do so when he sings tracks like Life Itself I'm totally caught up and find it deeply beautiful. If you can't relate to the sentiment songs like that must seem quite different, but My Sweet Lord was a huge hit so it must have resonated with people.

Overall I think George's solo work is under appreciated. Kind of makes sense as he mostly avoided public eye, didn't have a publicist and almost never toured.

I wondered who was Ben Hana? I looked him up and I saw he was Blanket Man, ah yes I knew about HIM! He died in 2012 but he was definitely a feature of Wellington. I commute on the train into Wellington where I work so I saw him a lot, mainly around Cuba Mall, there are some beggars in Wellington, not many although Ben Hana was not a beggar, he just lived on the street, it was strange but kind of human.

I clicked on this while 33 1/3 was playing.  Ha!
And of course....not surprising...because of its releases' proximity to my teen years 33 1/3 is a classic.
I have an original copy of Dark Horse that I now need to get up and put on.

(Btw America's largest sporting event is today, although I don't care because my team lost last week.  It's too painful to even watch this year.)

Those hills/mountains!  Cool place.  It looks like some of the places here along Lake Superior outside of my city,
I watched a few more videos.  Charming place.
If I had the money I'd absolutely visit. (It's -5 F here today)
It looks like you could be in Wellington in a fairly short time. ? ? ?

I was just looking up stuff around your area.  What a cool country and area you live in.
However, one thing stands out as really peculiar. Ben Hana. Wtf?
