I'm in two minds about the new Bryan Adams song (man he's looking rather grizzly and gnarly now eh!) - the Jeff Lynne snare sound seems to suck all the energy right out of it. I'm used to his songs sounding so red-hot that to have him sound more like a lost Wilbury is, a tad off-putting.

I kind of agree with Kyle here. I don't know what the deal is with Jeff and his drum sound. The only other artist that reminds me of this is Phil Collins. Back when he was really hot and producing albums for other people, the "sound" was all Phil. Kind of weird really.  Time for a new Thread. ;)

Bryan Adams' best work was done with Mutt Lange at the helm....I like the two songs I've heard from Adam's new CD, but it might be Jeff Lynne's production that makes them sound like someone else entirely.

Yeah I'm (quietly) a fan of Mutt Lange - the big drum sound on those 80s Def Leppard albums, and the Shania Twain records. He also did good work on Muse's 'Drones' album this year.
