Bowie's Scary Monsters album is so so so so so good.  One of my favorite albums.

Someone once said that rock n roll goes through eras of creative and non-creative phases, and in between David Bowie just keeps the ball rolling.  (That's a paraphrase because I couldn't remember the quote.)

We spend trillions on war.  Let's throw money at the medical fields who research cancer.  For goodness sake there are kids who get cancer.

Dang if Gene Simmons didn't nail it: http://www.tmz.com/videos/0_1vvry34t

This is the thing, we don't want to face about the facts about cancer. Our Western DIET is killing us. That's why kids are getting it. There's a documentary 'Forks Over Knives' where they talk about how Asians never had records of heart disease or cancer or diabetes and how we need to reduce our meat intake and processed foods.

We tend to block these facts out even when it's staring us in the face. I suspect our Macca will actually live to a long age because he is vegetarian and has been for some decades now.

I am still in shock over Bowie. The new video 'Lazarus' has him literally on his deathbed - staring death itself in its face. That's a fairly ballsy video to do when it's actually happening for real. What a way to go out. The new album 'Blackstar' is pretty good too.

I totally agree with what you are saying, but I'll point out that Linda was veggie too.  :P

I didn't know Rick Wakeman played piano on the original Life On Mars.

Good point! Although it's not just the meat, it's the processed food in general. I was sipping on one of my everyday favourite 'Up 'n' Go' milk drinks today.. it's made by the Sanitarium company that have a reputation for healthy nutritional products for New Zealanders (especially breakfast foods) and I looked at the ingredients in the fine print - FRUCTOSE and CANOLA!!! Ugh!!! :( Both are carcinogenic and thus cancer-causing.

Like I said, our diets are killing us. Things we think are healthy are actually not. They are poisoning us slowly but surely..

I didn't know that about Canola. Jeepers.

Also, it can't be healthy to smoke a bale of weed every day for 30 years either. Or can it?  :o 8)

Hey Kyle...look into VEGA products. The SEEM to be on the healthy side, but you can never know for sure.  ???

Really appreciate that, you're spot on it is my personal tribute. His work has changed me and had an impact even if I am sometimes a bit wary of it. It was quite a shock hearing of his death, more than I would have expected.
