Favourite Star Trek Episode?
« on: January 15, 2016, 09:35:48 pm »

I have a few. Forgive me for getting titles wrong( I know..Google is my friend)

City on the Edge of Forever.

Most everyone's fav episode I expect.

Bit of backstory: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1P7Q0TU4NE

Balance of Terror.  Love this one too

The Inner Light.

Picard lives another life

I actually liked all the Star Treks and there were great episodes in all of  them, but these 3 are what I always seem to come back to.

What great topic! (and right in my other wheelhouse!) Agree with all of the above......adding these:

The Naked Time- Tons of insight into the STOS crew, especially Spock.

Amok Time- Same reason.

Sarek- Great scene chewing by Patrick Stewart. Also, swan song for Mark Lenard as Sarek.

Dear Doctor- From "Enterprise", shows again how great Trek can be at tackling serious moral quandaries.

More to come!

I'm glad you mentioned this. I'm a firm believer that Patrick Stewart was not the best actor on TNG. He's great at playing stoic and all that...but he didn't have to go off character very often. Now, Brent Spiner on the other hand...this guy killed it with everything they threw at him. Props to him.  8)

As for Shatner, he had his moments too. The final scene in Balance of Terror gets me every time. I can't find a clip on Youtube...but when he comforts the crewperson at the end,  he looks up at the chapel area with a WTF look on his face then turns and walks down the corridor. I've always thought it was amazing how you can see just in his face going from that moment to back to the Captain.

I'm just here to say that I've never seen an episode.  It was huge in our town for those years it was on.  I saw a few minutes here and there of it but no more than 5 min.  I'll have to check out one of the better episodes now!

Why couldnt you have picked M*A*S*H*, Brady Bunch, Happy Days or something?
