R.I. P George Martin

kylenz:
What a blow, to come home from work today and hear that Sir George has passed.

Easily my favourite producer of all-time. An inspiration to anyone who has ever used a 4-track tape recorder to hear what can be accomplished with such equipment.

I think his best work on a song was probably Strawberry Fields Forever. Such a triumph over relatively basic recording technology.

At 90, he had a good innings. But he was one of those blokes, you felt he would live forever..  :'(

Gutted.......RIP, Sir.

Well said, gentlemen. Huge loss.  :'(

I must say, I'm a bit shocked that every news site I go to, that his passing isn't the lead story. In fact...it's quite a way down the pages.  :o

Greg:
An icon.  He was really loved by millions.  He did The Beatles right.  He cared about them and their art and never asked for any recognition or credit.  He deserved more credit than he got but never asked for it.
