Best Solo Album. (I aint countin Beatles)
« on: May 14, 2016, 08:30:13 am »

Empty Glass  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gpdNkVnAuo

14 Songs  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbdBxIcDLhQ&list=PLciXU-XsjjglziUIY6QH3RBretvLSYtO-

I think that maybe these two albums might just be sentimental picks because of where I was in life, but I think they are so great.
Then I looked at the album cover of Empty Glass and realized it never seemed that bad until today.

I've had "Empty Glass" on three different formats over the years....LOVE that album.

Yeah, it's a great album. Hey...do you guys think this album would have worked as a Who album?

That's a tough one.
I would buy both the solo and the Who version.  They'd be different.
Moon and John would have created a diff feel to the music.  I love Pete's vocals on this, so idk about Daltrey singing some of those.

Yeah, it might have...."I'm Gonna Get Ya" sounds like Kenney Jones era Who anyway. Can't imagine Roger singing about "Rough Boys" though.

There's a version of Keep on working with Moon on drums and maybe John on bass.

Roger complained about Pete not giving some of those to the Who, and Pete said that Roger would not have sung Rough Boys because of the lyrical content.

I have a couple, though I'm not sure they are solo albums. Do you have to go back to your band to have it considered a solo album? I mean..if you leave a band you are just an artist right? I don't know. doh!

So - Peter Gabriel

Graceland - Paul Simon
