Beatle Boo Boo's
« on: June 08, 2016, 05:02:09 pm »

Ok..I stole this idea from a podcast Merv told me about. :)

What did the Beatles do that wasn't so Beatley?...in other words... not up to their standard of excellence. I think we can include solo here too.

I'll start.  Magical Mystery Tour.

Sure the music was awesome, but the accompanying TV special wasn't so...errr....special. :P

I respect the concept and risk they took on MMT and Let It Be.  They didnt play it safe.  They failed in a sense but I respect the effort and intention.

Broadstreet was the the work of a guy who didnt realize his own limitations.  At least he tried.

Not up to their standard of excellence?
True.  MMT and LIB.

Some of those '66 concerts should make the list.

I don't know. I think I'd pay good money to see Lennon play the organ with his elbows.  :D

Did he do that on a version in '66? Did he play piano on that song in '66? Or did he do that elbow thing on another song?

Ouch yeah. Can't really blame him though. Once a Day is enough to tackle that tune.

Ok.  I was talking '66 as some bad gigs.  John played guitar on Im Down on the '66 Tour when theyd do it in place of Long Tall Sally at some venues.  Shea was '65.
