Berry made amazing music. He was a rock n roll poet, he had cool lyrics before lyrics were cool. A very jazzy ensemble and a real style of declamation.

He was a huge original a giant of Rock n Roll.

I loved Chuck. Watching him was electric.  Even today I get chills watching old footage of that guy play.  Keith, and all of us, owe the man a great, great deal of gratitude.  Youre right.  No article can do the man justice.   I am glad that they mentioned the prejudices and Jim Crow laws that he had to experience.  That was part of Chuck's life.  Yet...his music helped bridge the racial divide in America.


(I thought it was funny that the article mentioned that the Pistols covered his song.  I guess technically they did.  With Johnny knowing about ten words of the song and saying, "I hate songs like that.")
