You know, there's a podcast called "Swinging through the sixties" that just did an epp about what they termed the worst songs ever to chart....and this one was included. They were quick to point out that they didn't mean it was a good song, just a bad choice of singers. I disagree wholly with them....Richard Harris brings just the right amount of pathos to the party.

Yeah, that's a great podcast.  :) A lot of complaints about that song are the lyrics. But...they meant something to the guy who wrote them so you know...jeesh..at least he doesn't mention Yoko every song. lol.  ;D
There is a live version on Youtube of Richard Harris singing it....he nailed it. Pretty good vocalist really.

I don't get the people who say Richard Harris can't sing....he'd done "Camelot" by then and that's got lots of singing in it. He's fine, right? :-)

Oh my....yes.  She is great.  And...the musicians shes got play perfect stuff for that song.
Modern day 60s female folk singer.  Very very nice.  And again Id never heard of her.

That was so cool I went to look to pick up the vinyl online.  $20.  I was hoping for slightly less but am still considering it.
