Winter Mountain (band)
« on: May 26, 2013, 11:39:52 pm »

I thought I would share the music of this duo that perform music with those dual harmonies that I grew up loving with the Everly Brothers and Simon & Garfunkel...

Winter Mountain: Martin Smyth (L), Joe Francis (R)

In October 2008, the two songwriters, Joe Francis from St. Agnes (a village on the North Coast of Cornwall) and Martin "Marty" Smyth (from County Donegal in Ireland) were traveling by rail across the United States, one headed east, one headed west. By chance, they happened to step onto the same train in Chicago, Illinois. They started talking, and their conversation revealed their mutual love for vocal harmony, the sounds of the sixties and discovered that they were each searching for something not of this era. By the time they hit Memphis, Tennessee, the foundations for a new musical force were set: by the end of their journey had plotted their course to form a duo. They have been touring primarily in the UK the past several years.

They have a three-song single just released called FIND FOLLOW at iTunes and Amazon MP3. Here's the lead-off song, and their first official video, "Shed A Little Light":

A physical CD is on the way:

Here are a couple of live acoustic performances from a promo session:

I think the full album, when it comes out, will be worth checking out.

That tune, "Shed a Little Light", was snappy and tasty......thanks for the heads-up!
