Ok...I've always known this guy was brilliant...but the older you get, the more you appreciate greatness. Wow..so many great great songs. I always loved this one...didn't know he wrote it though. doh.  :o

I agree. Jimmy Webb is an amazing songwriter and it also took me too long to realize it. I particularly love his work with Glen Campbell, such as "Wichita Lineman," "Galveston," and "By the Time I Get to Phoenix" - all enjoyed for such a long time before I realized who had written them. So many others are out there... "The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress", "I Keep It Hid" and "If These Walls Could Speak."

Yeah, a TON of great songs. Next month he has a new duets album coming out where he sings his songs with artists he picked. Brian Wilson doing MacArthur Park should be interesting.  :)
